AS one of few non-profit organisations for disabled children in Northern Namibia, the Pondo Multi-Purpose Community Organisation (PMPCO) is supposed to be a donor magnet. The cause of the charity is good. The nine disabled children housed at PMPCO, aged between 6 and 17, have been forced to brace the cold winter with minimal clothing, sleeping on thin mattresses on the floor and use prison-style blankets with holes in them to cover themselves.
