Veneers…the true Hollywood smile.

The teeth are badly stained, shaped or crooked may be improved by a veneer placed on the surface of the affected tooth.

Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic sealed on the front of teeth to change their color or shape. Veneers are used on teeth with uneven surfaces or are chipped, discolored, oddly shaped, uneven or unbalanced. Little or no anesthesia is necessary.

Veneers have a life and color stability of bonding, and highly resist permanent staining from coffee, tea or cigarettes, even.

Veneers usually taken by mouth lab technician working on the model provided by your dentist.  Veneers are usually irreversible because it`s necessary to remove a small amount of tooth enamel shell fit.

Porcelain veneers can mask undesirable defects, such as teeth stained by tetracycline, by an injury, or after a root canal, and are ideal for masking discolored fillings in front teeth.

Patients with gaps between their front teeth or teeth that are chipped or worn may consider porcelain veneers.

Usually, the facets includes at least three appointments: diagnosis and planning treatment, preparation and bonding.

During the visit of the tooth preparation, usually lasting one to two hours, the teeth are lightly polished so that the thin layer added.

Usually, about half a millimeter of the tooth is removed, this may require local anesthesia.  During the same visit, a mold is taken of the teeth, and sent to the laboratory for the manufacture of veneers.

The last visit “bonding” is also one or two hours, the veneers are placed on the tooth surface with water or glycerine on the teeth to check their form and have a sense of color or colors.  While the veneers are resting on your teeth may be different shades of cement of the teeth.

You can apply the paint, the tooth is cleaned on specific chemicals to achieve a bond.  When a special cement is between the veneer and the beam of visible light or laser tooth, causing the catalyst is released, hardening the cement.

During the two weeks of adjustment that follows, you may notice a change in size and shape of teeth. It ‘important to brush and floss every day.  One or two weeks, you`ll return to the follow-up appointment.  Porcelain veneers are reasonable facsimiles of natural teeth, not perfect substitutes.

It `s not uncommon to see slight variations in color of porcelain veneers, when observed, since this is happening, even teeth.
