I don't know what I like more about this story - it's constant influxes of perfectly timed humor or it's sheer PATHOS that hits just when you're starting to get a sugar high. This epic traces the gradual emergence of a blossoming love between Tony and Pepper, and adresses the conflicts and challanges that the relationship creates both externally in internally, as well as Tony's struggle with alcohol. I guarantee you'll hate the board of Stark Industries by chapter number three, I guarantee it.

The whole thing, and by ‘thing’ he means their relationship, takes a left turn after a particularly boring day of work. There had been no emergencies, Iron Man-related or having to do with the company. He’d gotten to all of his meetings on time and even spent lunch geeking out over some desalinization plans with Jenks and Deiter from R&D. He knows Pepper had gone to six or seven meetings herself and finished out the monthly budget reports. All in all, it had been the most normal day either of them had ever had. He thinks he even managed a coffee break.
Okay writing a reccomendation for just one of A.j's fanfiction seems almost futile to me, not because I can't think of something to nice to say but because quite frankly I've know her for years, co authored with her on rare a occasion in other genres, and as a rule just pretty much consider her the POPE of the comic based Tony/Pepper fiction. I'm very tempted to give you her live journal link and tell you take take a week or two and go read every damn word that she's written in this genre...
All that said, this is probably my favorite thing she's produced thus far, and not just because it's all smut, but because of it's sheer variety. A.j. can manage to take a thousand ideas and turn them all into something amazing... Her 'Rocky, Iron Dog' series is such a poplar thing in my house that my usually uninterested HUSBAND asks semi-regularly about whether there are any updates...
