QUESTION ONE: Looks like the future of gaming involves a lot of free to play games supported by microtransactions, and we're not just talking about Facebook games. Many MMOs, including Champions Online and LEGO Universe are either already free to play or moving towards that model, and it was announced last week that Valve's popular Team Fortress 2 is now free to play as well. On the heels of this wave, it's also been reported that X-Box Live Arcade will start carrying F2P titles, however Nintendo has said that they will not be carrying any on the upcoming Wii U, claiming that they "want the value of the software [to be] appreciated". Is Nintendo shooting themselves in the foot ahead of time by leaving F2P games out of their Wii U business plan?
No I don't think Nintendo is shooting themselves in the foot, and I got a couple of reasons why. First off, F2P is something that can always be added later, as being demonstrated by reports of Microsoft bringing it to Xbox Live Arcade. Nintendo should first and foremost focus on the Wii U and making it the best machine they can do first. If it turns out microtransactions are the way things are going, they can add it in later. The second reason, and one I think is quite alarming, is the drastic increase of reports of hacking that has been going on lately. Sony, Sega, and numerous others have been reporting being hacked in some form or another recently. If this continues, do you really think people are going to want to continue putting their personal information out there where it is apparently free for the taking? If the hacking persists, I think people will start to shy away from microtransactions and putting their info out there for every little thing.
I would say no, Nintendo is not shooting themselves in the foot. Most gamers complain about the micro-transactions and high costs of gaming this generation because of all the DLC.

The Government of Fiji has announced that it intends to establish a weapons manufacturing industry in Fiji.
While the Government’s official spokesman would not be drawn in the nature of the weapons involved, FDN’s Not in the News Scoop department has learned that the RFMF is working on two prototypes.
One prototype, known as the Dakai Bitu, is said to be a sonic weapon, possessing a powerful capacity to produce deep sound waves, capable of producing very quick times in cassava patch sprinting.
