Sen. Wright-Jones sued, again, over unpaid bills

ST. LOUIS • Days after settling a case over the tab at her $6,000 birthday party, State Sen. Robin Wright-Jones was sued again, also over an unpaid bill.

The St. Louis Democrat — who has attributed irregularities in her campaign account to an ailing treasurer —is due back in court to answer a claim she did not pay for airtime she received from a local radio station.

The suit from WGNU (920-AM) was filed on June 16 —three days after the Four Seasons dismissed its complaint against Wright-Jones.

The suit from WGNU was filed days after the Post-Dispatch reported that Wright-Jones had $95,000 unaccounted for in her campaign account. The first-term senator also acknowledged spending about $200 on shoes, listed on spending forms as a "non-campaign" expense.

Wright-Jones said that her treasurer, a finance administrator at Harris-Stowe State University, had been infected with the H1N1 virus, "swine flu," and unable to properly track campaign expenses.

For her dispute with WGNU, Wright-Jones has an appearance in St. Louis Circuit Court scheduled for July 20 in front of Judge Thom C. Clark, who also handled the Four Seasons' lawsuit against her.
